Develiki beach is a popular beach near Nea Roda (18 kilometers from Nea Roda). Develiki beach is a fishing village with a beautiful quiet beach where there are many small taverns and restaurants. Develiki beach is not so well known to tourists. The natural beauty and the surrounding area are what make it different and of course for those who know it.
The beach of Salonikiou is a long beach, sandy in places and pebbled in places, with wonderful blue waters and a view of the imposing peak of Athos.
It is not an organized beach, but there are some beach bars at the edge of the coast.
It is very quiet and therefore ideal for families.
Ormos Panagias is a seaside destination, known mainly for its beach which receives the Blue Flag award every year and the locals call it the “Copacabana of Greece” due to the size of the coast and its blue waters.
The village is an ideal destination for those who want to have a quiet holiday. The beach is called “Trani Ammouda” (meaning Big Sand) and is one of the most beautiful in Sithonia. It is neither very touristy nor particularly organized. There is a picturesque port in Ormos, from where small boats depart daily for cruises to Mount Athos and to Ammouliani and Ouranoupoli and there are boats and catamarans available for charter.
Ammouliani, in the bay of Mount Athos, is the only inhabited island of Halkidiki and has 600 permanent residents, who are mainly engaged in fishing and tourism, which exceeds 5000 together with visitors in the summer.
Agios Nikolaos village was founded in the 14th century, as determined by the archaeological discoveries made in the Vertino hill. The village is situated idyllically in the middle of beautiful green surroundings thick with forests. Just outside the village stand the historic church of Agios Georgios and a castle.
Nikiti is one of the most picturesque villages in Halkidiki. One of Sithonia’s most popular towns is a destination for everyone, with a bustling seafront and a charming traditional village nestled up in the hills.
Ouranoupoli is the doorstep of Mount Athos. It is the last secular place reached by the visitor who intends to visit the monastic state. Every day, from the small harbor in the shadow of the Tower, boats depart, on which pilgrims board (after having previously obtained the relevant permit from the “pilgrims’ office”) to reach the port of Mount Athos, Daphne.
The church of Agios Dimitrios: The village owes its second name to this church. It is located in the village and is a typical Halkidiki country chapel from the mid-19th century. It is built on the ruins of a small early Christian basilica, the foundations of which can be seen around the current church.
The tower located in the middle of the “Kambos” valley to the NE of the village, and at a distance of approximately 2 km. It is probably the tower of the Metochion of M. Dochiariou, mentioned in a document of 1409. Today, the ruined tower at a height of approximately 8m. and a part of the wall survive.
The surviving facilities of the settlement consist of two buildings (1885) and many ruins, all buildings newer than 1821. They are located approximately five hundred meters east of “Kampos”, near the sea, and can be reached by a dirt road of moderate passability. The settlements housed the refugees until the houses in the village were built.
